How to prepare tasty tomato chutney

Ingredients for tomato chutney

- 4 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped

- 2 tbsp sugar

- Salt according to your taste

- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

- 2 tbsp mustard oil

- 1 tsp panch phoron (a mix of fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds,  fennel seeds, and mustard seeds)

- 2 dry red chilies

- 1 tsp grated ginger 


Method of tomato chutney 


- Heat oil in a kadhai over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add panch phoron, and dried red chili and cook for a few seconds.

- Add the tomatoes and salt and mix well. Reduce the flame to low. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes until the tomatoes become soft. Stir a few times while cooking.

- Add sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.

- Turn off the flame and let the chutney cool down slightly.

- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl and enjoy with your favorite dish.

- You can adjust the amount of sugar according to your taste preference. You can also add some lemon juice for extra tanginess.
