  • 6 - 7 cloves of garlic to be crushed
  • Ginger and garlic to make a ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tomato chopped

  • Mustard oil
  • Bay leaf
  • Cumin seeds
  • Sliced green chilies
  • Turmeric
  • Red chili powder
  • Salt

Pre preparation for the recipe


  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, turmeric powder and mustard oil.

  2. Paste the 1 medium sized chopped onion.
  3. Paste the ginger and garlic together.
  4. Crush the cloves of garlic.

1. Take a kadhai and heat mustard oil.

2. When the oil is heated add 2 bay leaves and some cumin seeds, and fry with the oil.

3. Now add the sliced green chilies and fry with the oil.

4. Now add the 2 medium sized chopped onions and fry them until they are lightly fried and a little colour.

5. Now add the marinated chicken and cook with the other ingredients for some minutes.

6. Add the onions paste prepared earlier and fry nicely with the chicken for some minutes.

7. After that add the potatoes and fry with the other ingredients.

8. Now add the ginger garlic paste prepared earlier and cook all the ingredients together.

9. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder and some salt and mix together with the chicken for some minutes .

10. Add the chopped tomatoes and mix together with the chicken and other ingredients, and now cover the kadhai for some minutes.

11. Open the cover after some minutes and you will notice that the water has been released from the chicken and now stir it for some time.

12. Add coriander powder and cumin powder and stir and mix all the ingredients together so that the masalas get cooked.

13. Cover again for some minutes and open it to see if the masala are cooked or not.

14. When the masalas are cooked add 1 glass of water or more and stir it. And now once again cover it for some minutes.

15. Open the cover and you will see that the chicken has been boiled, at this stage add the crushed garlic and no smell of raw garlic will come off from the dish as the garlic will get completely cooked and will enrich the taste.
